Local Shopping areas

There are major shopping centers in Kiryat Sefer, Shilat/Kfar Ruth and Modi'in. There is also a fruit and vegatable shuk [open market] in nearby Shilat open from wednesday - friday.

Within Hashmonaim itself, there is the small commercial strip at the north end of the yishuv that contains the local Makolet [very well stocked] and Puzeilov's bakery [Note: its dangerous to walk in on a friday, because of all the yummy stuff for sale and the fresh challah smell is great!]. Many Yishuv residents have turned entreprenorial and have opened mini stores in their homes. A small sampling includes: Kochavi's Kol-Bo stationary/candy store, a hairdresser, a kid's clothing store, another candy and small toy store, a women's hat store, dressmakers and a world reknown jewelry maker has her factory in her home here.
